ABOUT

Why Must We Pray?

America is currently facing a time of crisis. Because we have fallen away from our founding fathers’ belief in prayer and the Bible, our nation has suffered greatly.  The New Orleans Gathering is committed to uniting the people of God in prayer and igniting the Church of Jesus Christ to take a stand for righteousness and holiness by crying out to God to extend mercy upon our nation.

Gather the people, Consecrate the assembly.

Joel 2:16

“Even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, With fasting and weeping and mourning.” Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God…

Joel 2:12-13

The Power of United Prayer

Now, more than ever, we need God’s intervention. We must have a Spiritual Awaking in the church that will lead to national revival. Our only hope is in God and His Word and we must do our part in prayer. Throughout the Bible, we read of the miraculous changes that took place when the people of God bowed the knee in prayer and repentance. There is power in unified prayer as the saints of God lift up one voice and one heart, believing that He will answer and pour out His Spirit upon our city, state and nation!

God Responds to Prayer

On the Day of Atonement in 2007, five-thousand saints of God gathered to pray for 8 hours in the Ernest Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. Their passionate prayers touched the heart of God and miracles began to take place throughout the city. It was stated in the news that no reported killing took place in the city for 5 consecutive days, beginning on the day of the prayer gathering! There was a change in the atmosphere that took place when the people of God united in prayer! Since 2007, we have continued to hold citywide prayer gatherings in New Orleans and God continues to respond as we gather to pray.
